Clearwater Residential Incorporated, has been serving the Southern California since 1995. For 15 years we have specialized in sheltering low-income to no-income elder citizens, as well as individuals and veterans who are temporarily homeless due to unforeseen circumstances. We want to take this time to say thanks to a few donors that have helped made it possible.

We want to say a special Thank You to:

wall mart foundation

To: Walmart Foundation

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your generous support. With so many foundations and businesses cutting back on their giving due to losses in investments, we are so grateful that the Wal-Mart Foundation supported us in our mission to end homelessness. Because of Wal-Mart’s donation and others like it, we are able to continue our work for a better community

I would like to open this narrative by once again expressing our deepest gratitude for your generous support. Thank you! This year has been an extraordinary one. We have seen individuals come through our program and go from being in depressed and manic states to becoming individuals who not only are able to provide to society more so than they were able to a year ago, but most importantly, provide and take care of themselves once more. As we have mentioned to you before, your monetary support was immediately used to purchase a van that cut down on our maintenance costs. Soon after, we began our search for a Case Manager that would help with the ongoing cases we had in the program, as well as newly admitted individuals who would come throughout the year. We also managed to hire a van driver that was of huge help. We as an organization took on more projects and having the extra driver on hand definitely made that possible.
I would like to present some statistics to you about the individuals we have served this past funding period. 96 adults total have gone through our program this past year. With the support of The Annenberg Foundation, we were able to move 27 homeless adults into our transitional living program. Of these individuals, 19 (70%) have moved on to become more self-sufficient through moving into long-term housing units. Six (22%) were reunited with family or friends and left the program to be supported by loved ones soon after. Two adults (11%) were employed with jobs less than three months into the program and with our support (monetary and physical assistance), were able to move into low cost apartments. Twelve of the 19 were able to receive long- term disability benefits through Social Security. Lastly, six out of the six veterans that came into the program (22% of the 27 adults) qualified for veterans’ benefits. General Relief and Food Stamps Programs were only looked at after all other options were exhausted.

Dear Mr. John Stoecker,
We at Clearwater Residential Services, Inc. are so very appreciative and thankful to the California Foundation for Stronger Communities for its generous $7,500 grant.

One hundred (100%) percent of your grant will be used to improve the lives of our target population. Already your generous support has begun to positively affect our community and the people we work with – the homeless, very low-income elderly adults and veterans. I would like to share with you and the members of your board how much your generous donation was desperately needed. For about the past two years, Clearwater Residential Care for the Elderly, Inc has been surviving on small bank account balances after bills were paid. We are currently spending $500-1000 a week on gas because of the increase in gas prices.

Many of our transitional living clients have come to us without health insurance, and with substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Our low-income elderly clients present themselves to Clearwater without family members to help them get to their doctors, pharmacists and therapy appointments. Your grant will help us to provide transportation for our clients to their appointments and any other necessities that they may need.

Through your generosity, the CMFA has provided stability to our company in these unstable times. As the year progresses, Clearwater Residential Care will report to you on the utilization of your grant and how it has positively helped our community.

Thank you so very much again. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,
